Spindle Sander Table Riser

Jet makes a wonderful little spindle sander, but the drum stroke is only about an inch or so. This means that a lot of the 6" tall sanding surface remains unused on a thin workpiece, even if I go through the fairly time consuming process of turning the drum upside down on its holder. This simple widget connects the dots.

Photo #1: Shot of inner structure; pretty simple, yes? I offset the base walls so that I had a lip to grab when I clamp the thing to the table.
Photo #2: Here it is in use. All it does is raise the workpiece high enough to contact the normally unused portion of the sanding drum.
